The Ultimate Home Karaoke Device? In-Depth Review of the Speaker-Mountable AI Vocal Remover Device, with a Full Breakdown of Pros and Cons

I’m someone who loves singing and often enjoys karaoke with friends. Recently, I stumbled upon a device called the “Speaker-Mountable AI Vocal Remover,” which claims to instantly turn any speaker into a karaoke machine and even comes with a Bluetooth adapter function to turn traditional wired speakers into wireless Bluetooth-enabled ones. I decided to give it a try, and now I’m here to share my detailed review with you.

Design and Appearance

The design of this vocal remover is compact and lightweight, about the size of a car key, making it very portable. The casing is made of textured plastic, which feels comfortable to the touch. On the front of the device, there are five indicator lights, arranged from top to bottom: 0%, 25%, 100%, Bluetooth, and power.

  • The 0% mode completely removes the vocals, leaving only the background music.
  • The 25% mode keeps 25% of the vocals.
  • The 100% mode plays the original song.

You can switch between modes by pressing the M button on the side.

At the bottom, there’s a Type-C charging port for recharging the device. However, it doesn't come with a Type-C charging cable. I tried using my phone's Type-C charging cable, and it worked fine for charging.

Core Function Experience:

Vocal Removal Performance

As a vocal remover, its primary function is, of course, to remove the vocals from a song. In actual use, its performance is quite impressive. After plugging the device into the AUX port of the speaker and pairing it with my phone via Bluetooth, I tested it by playing several songs of different genres. When I switched the mode to 0%, the vocals in most songs were noticeably reduced, and in some songs with simpler mixes, the vocals were almost completely eliminated, leaving only the clear background music. This allowed me to sing along freely with the rhythm.

Even for more complex songs, while it wasn't able to completely remove the vocals, it reduced them to a level where they didn’t interfere with my singing. The clarity and integrity of the background music were well preserved, with almost no noticeable loss in sound quality or unwanted noise.

3-Mode Adjustments

In addition to the mode that completely removes the vocals, the device also offers a 25% vocal retention mode and the 100% original song mode. In the 25% vocal retention mode, a portion of the original vocals is kept in the song. This mode is especially user-friendly for those who may not be familiar with the lyrics or still developing their singing skills. It allows users to follow the 100% original vocals for rhythm while still enjoying the fun of singing themselves. The original song mode lets users take a break during their karaoke session and simply enjoy the full, unaltered song.

This 3-mode design greatly enhances the device's versatility, catering to the needs of different users in various scenarios.

Bluetooth Adapter Function

Another highlight of this device is its Bluetooth adapter functionality, which allows you to turn traditional wired speakers into Bluetooth-enabled speakers. In actual use, the Bluetooth connection process is very quick and easy. After turning on the device, the Bluetooth indicator light lights up. I simply searched and paired it in my phone's Bluetooth settings, and within a few seconds, the connection was complete. Once connected, I played music from my phone, and the sound was transmitted to the speakers smoothly, with no noticeable delay or lag. Whether playing local music or songs from online music platforms, the playback was seamless.

However, when I tried to connect it to my MacBook Pro, I couldn't establish a connection. I'm not sure if the issue is with my MacBook Pro or with the vocal remover device itself.

Compatibility Testing

In terms of compatibility, I connected the device to both my traditional computer speakers and my car audio system, and it successfully established Bluetooth connections and transmitted audio in both cases. This feature is especially useful for users with older audio equipment. As long as the device has a 3.5mm AUX audio port, it can be upgraded to Bluetooth functionality with this device, allowing users to enjoy the convenience of wireless music playback.

Sound Quality Performance

In terms of audio transmission, the device supports high-definition AAC audio codecs, which help ensure a certain level of sound quality. During actual listening, its performance was quite good. When playing background music or original songs, the sound was clear and met basic listening needs without noticeable noise interference. Both the audio transmission and vocal removal process did not cause a significant drop in sound quality.

However, compared to directly connecting the speakers, there were some differences in the detail restoration and depth of the sound. For example, the treble was clear but lacked a sense of openness, and the midrange was relatively balanced, though the emotional depth of the vocals wasn't fully conveyed.

Conclusion

The speaker-mountable AI vocal removing device has left a strong impression on me with its excellent vocal removal performance, practical Bluetooth adapter functionality, solid sound quality, and compact, portable design.

It meets my needs for karaoke at home and also allows me to add Bluetooth connectivity to my computer speakers and car audio system, making music playback more convenient. While there are areas that could be improved—such as the inability to perfectly remove vocals in some highly complex mixes, connection issues with my MacBook Pro, and a slight decrease in sound quality during transmission—it’s still a fun and useful little gadget overall.

If you’re looking for a way to enjoy karaoke at home anytime, I’d definitely recommend considering this device. I believe it will surprise you in the best way.
